2 Tense Consistency:
Don’t mix past and present in the same context.
❌ “She goes to school and played cricket.”
✅ “She went to school and played cricket.”
3 Preposition after “Different”:
Always use “different from” (not “different than”).
✅ “This book is different from that one.”
4 “Less” vs “Fewer”:
Less = uncountable (less water, less time)
Fewer = countable (fewer books, fewer cars)
5 “Each” and “Every” are singular:
✅ “Each of the students has a book.”
6 Vocabulary Root: “Bene” = good:
Benediction (blessing), Benefactor (one who does good)
7 Vocabulary Root: “Mal” = bad:
Malignant (harmful), Malpractice (wrong doing)
8 Vocabulary Root: “Omni” = all:
Omnipotent (all-powerful), Omniscient (all-knowing)
9 Idiom: “Beat around the bush” = avoid saying directly
10 Idiom: “Hit the nail on the head” = exactly right
11 Idiom: “Bite the bullet” = endure pain bravely
12 One-word Substitute: “One who eats human flesh” = Cannibal
13 One-word Substitute: “One who knows everything” = Omniscient
14 Spelling Rule:
“i before e except after c”

15 Active vs Passive:
Active: “She wrote a letter.”
Passive: “A letter was written by her.”
